Eight employees and retirees from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey attended a storytelling workshop today at the 9\/11 Tribute Museum as part of the agency\u2019s Remembrance Through Renewal service activities during the month of September. Many stories were shared by the participants, several of whom had worked in the Twin Towers for decades, and two of whom had parents who worked for the Port Authority for decades. Tribute volunteer and Port Authority employee Peter Bitwinski recounted the story he tells on his tours to illustrate the way he selected key moments in his career that can be best appreciated by visitors coming to New York City to learn what happened here on September 11, 2001.<\/p>\n
The group also had a tour of the galleries in the 9\/11 Tribute Museum\u2019s new home at 92 Greenwich Street, half way between the World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty. They appreciated seeing the way that the exhibits include the history of the neighborhood, and extend into the present highlighting the service projects undertaken by people in the 9\/11 community in response to the compassion received after the attacks.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
